Fun Family Nights

Have you ever been home on a Friday night with your Kids or friends wondering what should we do tonight? You don't want to spend too much money on things, but you are looking for a fun family/friend activities. Well there are many fun activities that you can do but one activity that I think is a good time is  having a marshmallow fight with marshmallow guns. Not only is this easy cheap and fun but I know how we all love to eat marshmallows!
The guns are made out of 1/2 inch PVC pipe you can buy this from the home depot for like $2 for 10 foot. Then you just cut them and sand off the end.  Then you just buy lots and lots of marshmallows and have a war!!
Here is a good example of ideas and I bet the children would love to design their own.
Anyway I believe my friends and I are going to do this probably tonight or tomorrow and I will attach some fantastic fun pictures :)

Favorite Movies

Continuing with favorites!

Since we've been married, TJ and I have built our little collection of favorite movies.  I have found that I am getting more and more picky about what I watch, so we have chosen movies carefully, trying hard to avoiding swearing, violence, immorality and looking for movies that are generally positive.

Here are some of our favorites:

A Cinderella Story
Akeelah and the Bee
Blind Side
Despicable Me
Epic
Father of the Bride
Freaky Friday
High School Musical
Monsters University
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
National Treasure
Pirates of the Caribbean
Ramona and Beezus
Tangled
The Cosby Show
The Music Man
We Bought a Zoo
You've Got Mail

It's pretty rare that we watch a movie start to finish, so when we take time to do it, I want it to be good!  What are some of your family favorites?

Family home evening

Dusty and I had a fun date night/ family home evening recently- after a long day of work for both of us, we ate tacos for dinner, painted these darling letters to display on our mantle talked about some Gospel principles, then ate milkshakes :) we had so much fun and loved spending time together!

I found the wooden letters in the craft section at Walmart for around $1.00 each so "HAWS" was roughly $4.00.
I got the craft paint from the same section and it was less than a dollar. We used maybe half the little bottle for all those letters.
I got the little brushes with the wooden handle and black spongey top part (a pack of 3 or 4) also for under a dollar.

Anyways,  it was a really fun activity and we love having our name displayed- it helps make our house feel more homey :)

Favorites

I have included some of my "Favorites" below in no particular order.  I may need to do another installment, as I did not include any of my favorite recipes, books, vacations, car ideas, etc.  There are so many things to choose from!  Enjoy...

-Brooks Ghost 6 shoes.  I have 4 pairs of the exact same shoes that I rotate each day.  It helps them last longer.  They have a motto "Run Happy!"  You can't argue with that...

-Feetures socks.  I never worry about blisters.  They stay put, are comfortable, and I LOVE them!

-

-Claritin Side-Sleeper Pillow.  Growing up I ALWAYS slept on my back.  During pregnancy, you are suppose to sleep on your side.  I hated it, to say the least, until I found this pillow.  I now ALWAYS sleep on my side.
-

-Colgate toothpaste.  I have only had one cavity.  Ever.

-Tongue scraper.  I use it every time I brush my teeth.  I feel like it does wonders.

-Arrowhead.  After traveling to the Middle East (and then living in Texas where they had horrible tasting water), I always have bottled water around.  In Arkansas, I bought Ozark, and here I buy Arrowhead.  It is convenient for the car, and during the night.

-Big Mouth Bibs.  They snap closed.  They are waterproof.  They are amazing.

-Chef Knife.  I miss my Saber Chef Knife, as it is my favorite, but I bought another chef knife and it is working really well.

]
-Panini Press. Sara has been extremely kind to let me use hers while mine is in storage.  I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY.  I cannot imagine kitchen life without a panini press.

-Sketchers Go Walk.  I have 2 pairs, and wear one of them almost every single day.  They have great support, and I have really enjoyed them.

-COSTCO.   You don't know how amazing Costco is until you don't have one.

-Studio 5.  Mary has me hooked on Studio 5 with Brooke Walker.  It is a TV show, and it has some great ideas/segments.  Check out their website here

-P90x Yoga.  Admittedly this is my only yoga video, but I really enjoy it.  I am trying to do it once a week.

week.

-Life Planner.  Again, Mary inspired me and I have loved my life planner from erincondren.com.

-Ju-Ju-Be diaper bag.  We got this diaper bag when we had Cooper and Brock.  It has been a really great quality, excellent shaped diaper bag.

-Kids.  It wouldn't feel right to do a post without pictures of my favorite kiddos!
