Caramel Bars


Caramel Bars

1 cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
¾ cup oats
½ cup softened butter

Use your pastry cutter to combine all the above.  Set aside 1 cup.  Press the rest into an 8 x 8 pan lined with parchment paper.  Bake at 350 for 7 minutes.

On stove, melt together:
1 (11 oz.) package caramel bits
2 tablespoons milk

Once melted, add:
2 tablespoons flour

Pour caramel onto cooked crust.  Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup on top.  Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
