Family home evening

Dusty and I had a fun date night/ family home evening recently- after a long day of work for both of us, we ate tacos for dinner, painted these darling letters to display on our mantle talked about some Gospel principles, then ate milkshakes :) we had so much fun and loved spending time together!

I found the wooden letters in the craft section at Walmart for around $1.00 each so "HAWS" was roughly $4.00.
I got the craft paint from the same section and it was less than a dollar. We used maybe half the little bottle for all those letters.
I got the little brushes with the wooden handle and black spongey top part (a pack of 3 or 4) also for under a dollar.

Anyways,  it was a really fun activity and we love having our name displayed- it helps make our house feel more homey :)

Knock, knock!

The other day I looked at Dusty and said, "knock, knock!" He said "who's there" I smiled and said, "THE BIG BAD WOLF!" And the just smiled waiting for his response... After an awkward glance and no reply, I realized the traditional "colored eggs" was a Milar family creation that I'm presuming nobody but us knows about.

I have explained the whole game to Dusty and I can't wait until a summer day while we are all out onthe back patio eating ice cream cones and start a game of colored eggs!!!

Picnic Peace

Picnic on Tuesday

A couple weeks ago On a Tuesday afternoon, I decided to skip my institute class and run to the grocery store, make dinner, and then surprise Dusty on campus (he didn't get out of class for a couple hours after I did), with a picnic lunch.

It worked out perfectly. :) I packed a little picnic basket (a gift we got for our wedding) and I filled it with Ceasar salad, sandwiches, apples, yogurt, and chocolate chip cookies. We sat on Old Main hill and looked out toward the temple and ate and talked and reminisced on the early days when we first became friends. The first time just he and I talked and spent time together we sat on Old Main. :)

It is mid October but the weather was BEAUTIFUL- mid 70's the afternoon we sat out there so that was sure pleasant as there aren't many nice days like that left in the year.

I am grateful for sunshiney days and views of the temple and yummy food and a husband who is gentle and tender and so loving.
